The English sparrow is one of the most common birds at bird feeders
and around cities.
This species is a small bird, from 4 to 7 inches (10-18 cm) long
with a short, stout bill.
Plumage is mostly brown on the back and brownish-white below.
Males have brown and black stripes, a grayish-black neck patch,
and a black bib between the bill and chest; females do not.
