Unlike
most native species that seldom live for more than one year, an
adult multicolored Asian lady beetle can live for 2 to 3 years.
Adults are primarily predators on aphids, but will eat a variety
of other foods, including beneficial insects and fruits. Under
crowded conditions, the adults are known to eat one another.
Eggs
are mostly laid in spring and usually hatch in 3 to 5 days. The
larval stage lasts between 12 and 14 days, and the larvae feed
mostly on aphids. The pupal stage lasts from 5 to 6 days.
